    With much to be grateful for, one Kimball family showed appreciation with an open invitation to share a meal for the Thanksgiving holiday. Alecia Klein and her uncle held a delightful dinner for anyone in the community to enjoy on Thanksgiving evening, opening the invitation through social media. One person said that there was an enormous amount of food including turkey, stuffing, pies, and much more.     As Kimball Public Schools brings in new students, it also attracts 6 new teachers onto the staff. Mary Lynch Elementary has three new teachers, and the Kimball High School also has three new teachers. Victoria Ingram, who grew up in Kimball, is the new pre-k teacher.     With students heading back to school next week, Kimball Public Schools announces some changes at both the Kimball Jr/Sr High School and Mary Lynch Elementary for this upcoming year. School will begin on Friday, Aug. 17, at 8 a.m. and will end at 1 p.m., on that first day.     Kimball Public Schools hired a new superintendent, Dr. Elizabeth Owens, formerly of Virginia. Her ancestors have been in Virginia for over 400 years. After growing up on a farm near the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia, Dr. Owens stayed close to home, working for the Virginia Department of Education in the Office of School Improvement, where she provided technical assistance to school districts to increase student achievement.     Children in the Potter and Dix areas took their time to shine, performing "Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch," on July 13 in Potter.     Kimball High School hosted the Gold Medal State volleyball camp July 9 through July 12 with 19 student athletes attending from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., including one eighth grade student from Arizona, Caroline.     A&L Sales and Service hosted a toy drive from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday Dec. 15, in memory of co-owner Lindsey Chavez's father, George Armstrong. This is the first of many planned toy drives at A&L, which allows parents to choose 1-2 presents per child.
