Local family feeds spirits and stomachs on Thanksgiving

With much to be grateful for, one Kimball family showed appreciation with an open invitation to share a meal for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Alecia Klein and her uncle held a delightful dinner for anyone in the community to enjoy on Thanksgiving evening, opening the invitation through social media.

One person said that there was an enormous amount of food including turkey, stuffing, pies, and much more.

Klein said that 36 people joined them this year to share a meal and interact with one another.

This is something her family does every year on Thanksgiving, to provide for those who are less fortunate and to show, in grand style, their gratitude.

“We like to help the less fortunate with the thought that they will be as helpful if they were to meet someone in their situation,” she said. “My family is very strong believers in being thankful for everything we have, knowing that it can all be taken away.”

The family received many offers for help with food, though those offers were declined. Alecia said they wanted to do this with no expectation of help in return.

They plan to do the same thing next year with an even bigger turn out.

“This is how we show our appreciation for the small things, like the community coming together and sharing moments like these,” she said.
