    At the the Kimball County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting Tuesday, July 3, County Road Superintendent Dave Hottell addressed the roads in the northwest part of the county have been neglected due to minimal equipment operators.     The Kimball County Transit Service received two awards at the annual Nebraska Association of Transit Providers Managers Conference. Christy Warner, Transit Administrator received the "Rookie Manager of the Year Award" from the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Warner was nominated by Kimball County Commissioner Daria Anderson-Faden.     The City of Kimball has seen an increase in sales tax compared to this same time last year. According to Amy Sapp, Special Projects Coordinator, this could be attributed to both an increased number of seasonal workers in the area, as well as, increased spending locally. “We’ve got contractors in town and we have seen an influx of retirees from Colorado moving into town.     4-H consists of members ages 8-18 to show off different and unique talents. Although many think 4-H is just about showing animals and sewing, it is much more than that. It involves photography, robotics and many other projects for youth to enjoy. In Kimball, photography is actually one of the largest 4-H groups.     During the 2017-2018 school year, Mary Lynch Elementary raised over $1,000.00 through the General Mills Box Tops for Education Program. This program pays submitting schools ten cents per valid (not expired) Box Top submitted to be used to purchase school supplies to promote the students' education. This year, Mary Lynch students collected over 10,000 Box Tops. Box Tops are collected five times throughout the school year.     The 2018 Vince's Corner A-B-C-D Double Draw Golf Scramble was held this past weekend at the Four Winds Golf Course and it was a "Hot Time" for the 124 golfers involved as the temperatures rose to the upper 90s both days.
