    Another championship medal for Kimball wrestler Britton Culek as the young wrestler captured first place in his division at the Northern Colorado Regional Tournament held in Thorton, Colorado, this past weekend. Britton, who just turned 9 years old, is the son of Bob and Katie Culek and wrestled in the 8-and-under bracket consisting of 24 of the region's best at this age and weight division. Britton Culek won a Northern Colorado Wrestling championship besting a strong 24 wrestler bracket to bring home the championship from Thorton, Colorado!     It was a break-even week for the Kimball High boys with a win over South Platte and a loss to Chase County and the Horns are also even on the season at 4 wins and 4 losses.     A tough week for the Kimball High girls as they suffered losses to South Platte and Chase County dropping their season record to 3 wins and 5 losses.     The Kimball Wrestling Club held its Federation Wrestling Tournament this past Sunday – the K-Town Takedown – at the Kimball High gymnasium and attracted a large field of 178 wrestlers, according to one of the organizers, Bob Culek. The parking lots on all sides of the Kimball school were filled with vehicles from near and far!     The 2019 Nebraska Firearm Deer Season came to an end this past weekend and a total of 247 deer were checked in a Sportsman’s Liquor, the local check-in station in Kimball. As reported last week after the opening weekend of 134 checked in, another 113 hunters filled their licenses as reported by midmorning on this past Monday and hunters had until noon Monday to check in their animals.
