Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
In looking back at the highlights of 2019, the top happenings occurred in golf!
The Kimball High boys had their remarkable three seniors consisting of Dillon Wise, Zane Anthony and Izaak Reuter closing out their careers at Kimball High with a fourth straight District championship – and all three finished in the top 10.
They also were the SPVA and WTC conference champions all four years of their play, and I might mention that Cole Henton and Jess Siren will return to hopefully carry on some winning tradition.
Payton Wise also made some noise for the Kimball High girls golf program as she set new school records for best round scores ever, and she qualified for state for her second time in as many attempts – and she brought home third place from State.
She has two years remaining for us to cheer on her efforts.
Also, a tip of the hat to Chantel Malson for qualifying for the state cross country meet – and she also has two more years remaining.
Now let’s concentrate on getting our girls and boys basketball teams to finish with winning records and hopefully conference and district championships.
Also, we need to cheer on our wrestlers and get some state qualifiers, and then it’s on to track and field and boys golf before the school year ends.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
