Edward Tamsett, Four Winds Golf Course's new golf pro, arrived in Kimball about three weeks ago from Australia. About three or four days ago, he was joined by his wife, Wilkiria. Saturday was a memorable day for the Kimball Trap Team.The team held its first fundraising event. The team had hamburgers and hotdogs – and open shooting. The area’s Class D schools sent their NSAA State Meet qualifiers to Omaha for competition on Friday and Saturday, and that included a set of qualifiers from Potter-Dix. The Coyotes and were led by senior Luke Kasten’s 17th place finish in the 100 Meters and 16th place showing in the 200 meters. Chris Arent, Potter-Dix schools superintendent, announced on Tuesday the Ms. Morgan Boots has been named as the High School’s head play production coach (One Act) for the 2023-24 school year. Kimball's Kyler Lusche shot an 85 on Tuesday, the first day of the NSAA State Golf Tournament at Elks Country Club in Columbus. Lusche teed off on number 1 at 9:30 a.m. Central Time and ended up being tops in his foursome. The individuals Lusche was paired with shot 90, 93 and 99. On Monday, Kyler Lusche placed ninth at the C5 district golf tournament in Kimball on May 15 at the Four Winds Golf Course. After missing most of the season with a back injury, Lusche shot a 39/42 for an 81 to earn a trip to the state meet in Columbus on May 23 and 24. Kimball Junior High had a great track season with about 60 kids out for the season. On Saturday, the season ended with the Nebraska Championship Meet in Gothenburg. Qualifying for the meet were eighth graders Derek Russell in discus and Trey Cook, Clarika Hottell, and Carly Norberg in pole vault. Seventh grader JaLeigh Bohac qualified for the meet in the discus. Mitchell's Cael Peters won the Kimball Invite on Thursday with a solid game of 35/35=70 at Four Winds Golf Course. Jace Nelson from Gordon-Rushville shot a 35/36 for a 71 to take second. Potter-Dix’s Trap Shooting Club as been in full swing since March, with their Friday competitions improving the scores of their members every week. Competing in the U.S.A. Karsyn Chesley will be traveling to Perry, Georgia in June to compete in Light rifle shooting at the National Junior High Rodeo. The shooting finals are held in conjunction with the National Junior High Rodeo competition. Potter-Dix's Coyote Track and Field teams traveled across the border into Wyoming to compete at the Kendra Roeder Invitational at Pine Bluffs High School.
