Longhorns Winding Up Track Season Nicely

Teams warmed up before the start of the Kimball Invite on Thursday, May 4. Trevor Williams from Potter-Dix (in the white) was just out of medaling at the Invite. Mitchell's Cael Peters won the Kimball Invite on Thursday with a solid game of 35/35=70 at Four Winds Golf Course.

Jace Nelson from Gordon-Rushville shot a 35/36 for a 71 to take second. Third place went to Zaybreon Hanson from Perkins County with a 35/40=75.

Sixty-four golfers in all hit the Four Winds course for the annual Invite.

The Mitchell team also took first-place honors with a 328.

Topping the area athletes was Potter-Dix's Trevor Williams with a 46/38=84, just one stroke out of medaling. Other golfers from Potter-Dix were Landon Gasseling with a 100, Josh Kasten with a 105, Gunnar Oleson with a 106, and Zach Rotert with a 139.

For Kimball, Landon Norberg shot a 92, followed by Connor Deboodt at 99, Bransyn Kiefer at 105, and Samuel Anderson at 133. Top Kimball golfer Kyler Lusche was out with back problems.

The Leyton Invite was scheduled for Sidney on Thursday, May 11, and districts is set for Four Winds on May 15.
