Shot putter and freshman Aubrey Culek, left, will get another chance at districts in the years to come. The district track meet was one for the books as it started in Grant with Perkins County hosting, but was moved halfway through the meet to Ogallala. After five hours of delays due to lightning and rain, the meet and final events were finished by 9:30 p.m. The coaches stress that the athletes worked "hard through all the adversity that was thrown at them." Many individuals had personal records, but unfortunately no Longhorn made the state roster. "But we had good races," Coach Tiffany Johnson said.
