    On July 11, Clean Harbors Inc. submitted an Approval to Construct Request to the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy. This request is to continue construction for the implementation of the new rotary kiln incinerator infrastructure. The projected completion date for the new rotary kiln incinerator is mid-2024.     A Hillen Construction Co. excavator makes short work of removing the 1950 boiler unit from the basement of the former West Elementary School, as progress continues on Kimball's new hospital building project. The company, along with general contractors Haselden Construction Co. of Centennial, Colo., removed the nearly 1,000 pound cast iron boiler before filling the basement in preparation for laying the new hospital's foundation.   • Police Respond To Road Rage Incident Near I-80 Exit

    Kimball Police Chief Andy Bremer and his force were busy defusing situations last week. Bremer said a small car and a semi-truck got into a road rage incident Thursay night on Interstate 80. Both vehicles left the interstate at the Kimball exit, began arguing, and blocked traffic at the stop light. Kimball police broke them up, and both were sent on their way with a significant distance between them returning to the interstate.   • YARD OF THE WEEK

    Brian and Rebecca White at 604 Chestnut St. received Yard of the Week honors. The Spanish style stucco house built in 1920 was purchased by the White family in 2006. It was overgrown and required a lot of work to get everything looking good. In the spring, the long line of lilacs in bloom border the yard and daisies highlight the house and yard.     Amidst the late frost, the sawfly infestation and the lack of moisture, area wheat farmers are preparing for a lackluster harvest as well as predictions of a long, drawn-out harvest.
