Longhorns Football, Hemingford To Play For 2nd Place

Kimball football coach Darrell Howitt and his players worked with the next generation of Longhorns during practice Oct. 1. The future is showing some promise for the program. Last week, the junior high Horns dealt Perkins County it first loss, 30-24.
The Kimball Longhorns return to Keith Staehr Field one last time this season Friday in a battle for second place in D1 District 11 with Hemingford.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
The Horns are 1-1 in the district and 2-4 overall, while Hemingford sits at 1-1 and 3-3 overall. Hemingford is coming off a 44-42 win over Bayard, while Kimball lost 68-17 last week at Bridgeport.
Hemingford has an advantage in point differential in this week's game, having scored 194 points and given up 218 while Kimball is 134 points scored and 284 points allowed.
