Homecoming Week For Wildcat Nation

FFA Team Heading To Bridgeport And Kimball

Good morning! lots of rain and somewhat cooler. Kind of a mix of spring and fall. Nice football weather for the most part.

This week – today Thursday, September 14th – there will be another pre-school program at the Wildcat Hills Nature Center hosted by the Nebraska Game & Parks and Wildcat Hills SRA. “Feathered Friend” will begin at 10 a.m. and is Free, however, a park permit is required.

Beginning the next day through the 17th, there will be a display of quilts at the Torrington fairgrounds Rendezvous Center. This is part of the “Quilts Along the Platte” exhibit, and they are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Saturday September 16th the Banner County cross country team will don their running shoes and head to Alliance.

The farmers markets are still open in Scottsbluff and Morrill, along with nice produce at Gene’s in Gering and on weekends at Megan’s Market.

Since this is the third Saturday of the month (already!) the Midwest Theater will host a Free Classic movie. This month it is “Gone With the Wind,” starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh, at 1:30 p.m. and 5:28 p.m., sharp.

The Meadowlark Hearth Farm will have a gardening class Sunday, the 17th. Their e-mail is [email protected], for more information.

Monday the 18th will find high school students celebrating Homecoming week, so if you are at the school, don’t be surprised by anything.

The FFA team will be headed to Bridgeport that day for an Edge Conference and at 5 p.m. the volleyball team will be headed to Kimball for a meet at 5 p.m.

The following day the FFA group involved in range judging will go to Kimball to compete in the District Range Judging contest, and the next day there will be more volleyball – at Home! – with players from Community Christian as competitors. Game time is 1 p.m.

Also on the 20th there will be a Grief Support meeting at St. Mary’s Plaza in Scottsbluff. It will be at 6 p.m., and more information is yours by calling 308-630-1149.

All for now, have a great week and take care until next time. Barb Cross at 436-7152.
