Quickly Approaching The Last Few Days Of January

Banner County

Hello everyone, I hope that you are having a great week. We are quickly approaching the last few days of January. I flat do not know where the time goes, I am definitely not having that much fun!

There is not a whole lot going on in the Valley or surrounding areas but here at home we have sports and the Spelling Bee, which is today, Thursday the 26th at 12:30 p.m.

Sports wise there is high school wrestling at Mitchell the 27th at 8:30 a.m. and a home high school boys basketball game at 4 p..m. The opponent will be the Guernsey junior varsity.

Saturday, January 28th the Speech team will travel to Gordon/Rushville and at 1 p.m. the high school boys basketball will be at Weldon Valley, Colo.

On Monday the 30th the girls basketball team will be competing in Arthur County at 5 p.m. and finishing off January on the 31st the junior high boys basketball team will play here at home vs. Scottsbluff. Game time is 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday is the 1st of February. And just like that, January is a thing of the past.

On that day beginning at 9 a.m. there is a FFA District Contest at Gordon and later in the day at 1 p.m. the junior high boys basketball team will play in Creek Valley.

Lots of travel and quite a lot of distance. Good luck and safe travel to all of you.

The Ignite Youth group at the Harrisburg Community Church has been trying to get back in session. They will keep trying to meet on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. and everyone is welcome.

They are also planning on having an annual meeting on Sunday the 29th. A pot-luck will be served immediately following morning services, followed by the meeting.

Everyone is welcome to this also. On Tuesday, January 31st the Commissioners will hold their first evening meeting. It will be at 5:30 p.m.

They are doing this in the hope that more people will be able to attend and if necessary voice any thoughts or concerns.

Like I said earlier, not much going on right now. However, the Midwest Theater still offers some entertainment.

On Friday the Missoula Children’s Theater will perform “Rumpelstillskin.” Show time is at 7 p.m.

For the rest of the weekend, “Empire of Light’ will play at 7 p.m. on the 28th and at 1:30 p.m. on the 29th.

Well folks, that is all for now. Have a great week and take care until next time. Barb Cross at 308-436-7152.
