Good morning, here is hoping you had a great 4th of July. Sure was hot enough.

We will start this week off with the Bands on Broadway series featuring Gabriel the Brute, and the 43rd Army Band. They were recently at Fort Rob, so if you missed them, here is your second chance. They will be at the 18th Street Plaza from 6- 9 p.m. July, 7th. Events for the annual Oregon Trail Days will be scheduled July 7 -10 and for a look at that schedule go to Information:www.oregontraildays.com.

Bands on Bordeaux, part of the free summer concerts in Chadron, will be in Railroad Park from 6-9 p.m. on the 8th. Also on the 8th the Oregon Trail Rod & Custom Show will be in downtown Gering. More info is available by calling 308-635-3978.

Back up at Chadron July 9-10 they also will have a Classics in the Park Car Show, 308-207-5338 for more on that.

In Torrington on the 9th of July, the 2nd annual Fly-In will begin at 7:30 a.m. -6 p.m. Airplane and car competition will be taking place and there will be free shows. The location is Airport & EAA 342 Road. There will be free airplane rides for those under 18.

At the Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering on Saturday, July 9th there will be a concert featuring Chris Cagle and special guest Casey Donahew. 7 p.m. is showtime and more info can be found at http://www.outhousetickets.com

Also on July 9th, the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will be in Bridgeport at the county fairgrounds. Shows will be at 2 & 4:30 p.m. Call 308-279-2626 for more help.

The circus also will be in Kimball on Friday, July 8, at 5 and 7 p.m. as a Fermers Day fundraiser. See ad on Page A3 for more details.

Man, oh, man is this summer flying by. I can hardly believe we are in the middle of July.

VBS at the Harrisburg Community Church went well and we thank all who helped in that challenge.
