Boy, Do We Need Some Rain

Banner County

Good morning Harrisburg, friends and family near and far. Here we are in the middle of April already, and boy do we need some rain.

We faced many local fires all past summer and our fire department has currently been helping at the Arapahoe fire.

It is so dry everywhere and these winds aren’t helping any either as I know you all are aware.

Here in the Burg at the schoolhouse, track is in full swing with the high school teams heading to Burns today, April 14th. The meet begins at 9 a.m. There is NO school today for the students, other than those taking the ACT test and teaching staff.

School will be closed through Monday, April 18th in observance of the Easter holiday. When they do return, there will be junior high track vs. Harlon Sutton on Wednesday, the 20th. This will begin at 9 a.m. in Chappell.

Good luck and safe travel to all of you .The Ignite youth group will meet Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at the Harrisburg Community Church and everyone is invited.

Vacation Bible School is a ways off but in the planning stages and there will be more info on this later. There is also an ALIVE weekend youth conference taking place this summer. For more information go to http://www.aliveweekend.com.

There is a minimal cost for local youth and there is a code for that, so see Laura Bagley. This will take place in July, so there is time.

At the Midwest Theater this week, the movie The Lost City will play Friday and Saturday, April 15th & 16th at 7:30 p.m.

Children who want to audition for the Missoula Children and #39’s Theater for the winter production must pre-register by Friday, April 14th. Online registration only at MidwestTheater.com

Well, that is all for now. Have a safe and beautiful Easter, remembering the reason for the season!

Take care until next time. Barb Cross at 436-7152.
