Fourth Of July Fun Throughout The Area

Good morning! Beautiful weather to start out the month of July ... Can you believe July is here already?

I want it to be May. I need more time and nice weather.

Well, since it is July you know that this week everyone everywhere will be celebrating the 4th. The remembrance of our fight for all of the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Since the 4th falls on a Sunday this year many celebrations will begin on Friday the 2nd.

Here are a few:

In Hemingford, the Cattle Capital Rodeo will be held at the Box Butte County Fairgrounds on the 2nd & 3rd with a 5k run and kids games, for more information on times and fireworks you can call 308-763-1053.

Down south in Kimball, fireworks will be started at Horsehoe Hill near the high school at 9:15 p.m. Earlier in the day, “Fun on the Fourth” family friendly activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at Gotte Park.

The rodeo and fireworks will go off on the 3rd & 4th in Bridgeport and the Camp Clarke rodeo carries on the traditions there.

The 25th year of the Allred Brothers Fireworks Show will go off at 9:10 on the 3rd at the Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering, and the LaGrange volunteer fire department will celebrate on July 3rd beginning with an ice cream social at 6 p.m. followed by the fireworks.

So, there you go with a shortened list of what is going on in our area.

Many picnics and barbecues will be taking place too, along with lots of fun at the local lakes. Wherever you are, have fun and be safe!

Thursday, July 1st the group playing for the Bands on Broadway will be offering free entertainment at the 18th Street corner in Scottsbluff from 6-9 p.m. and beginning on the 7th of July Chadron Fur Trade days will take off. Throughout the week many events will be available – more on that next week!

Birthdays here this week include: Rowdy Baker, Brady Jones, Jamie Farro, Tawanna Ansley, Mason Fulk, Tammy Brown, Benjamin Andrew McGowan, Bo Frayser, Kraig Baker, Russ McKeehan, Kaylynn Harper and Jessa Bradly Cross. Happy Happy Birthday!

Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Zane Hopkins, Robert Olsen, Ryan Frayser, Brett Cooper, Russ McKeehan, Dan Barrett and Ron Johnson.

Well that is it for now. Have a great week and take care until next time.
