Spring Is In The Air While Snow Is On The Ground

Banner County

Good morning and Happy Spring! She arrived in spite of all of our snow, hallelujah!

You know last week I knew we were missing school on Monday. However, I didn’t know the same was going to be happening on Tuesday and Wednesday. School on Thursday and Friday was a good thing.

This week we didn’t have school on Monday because Banner County hosted the MAC quiz bowl and we have a regular school day on Friday, March 26th, but a 1 o’clock dismissal. For the rest of the day, there will be a Jr. High quiz bowl.

Saturday, March 27th there will be high school track at Kimball.

The 27th is a pretty busy day. The winter farmers market will take place out at the Monument Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and if you would like to volunteer at the Riverside Discovery Center (zoo) for their spring cleanup be there from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be snacks and water provided, and if you work for the full four hours you will receive a Free day pass, whoo-hoo!

Also on the 27th, in Bridgeport you can go to their Spring Daze craft and vendor show beginning at 9 a.m. This is sponsored by the Bridgeport Firemens’ Auxiliary, and the Scottsbluff Humane Society will be on hand also with a few dogs and cats that are looking for a forever home.

Back here at school on Tuesday, March 30th, our music students will be competing in Garden County during the MAC music contest. Good luck and safe travel to all of you. For birthdays here, we have Florence Gifford, Steve Adrian, Buford Carter, Peggy (Brown) Peterson, Richard Browne, Barb Cross, Makyla Mason, Asher Wyatt, and Grace Muggli. Happy Happy Birthday!

Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Josh Loutzenhiser and Gregg Wurdeman.

Easter will happen before our next letter, and Good Friday is next week. I am so grateful that this year we will celebrate this most wonderful of holidays in our church buildings!

Have a great week and take care until next time. Happy Easter!
