Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Banner County Homecoming This Friday

Good morning everyone! Beautiful time of the year that is for sure. I love the fall season, but not the Halloween stuff quite so much. However, to each their own, right?

Here at the school house there will be NO School ... one day only! That would be Friday, October 9th, the day after parent-teacher conferences.

However, there will be a high school football game on that evening here at home beginning at 7 p.m. and against South Platte. Homecoming activities will take place on the field at 9 p.m.

On the following day, Saturday, October 10th, the junior high volleyball team will compete in a MAC tournament at Garden County. No time listed for this one so if you need it give them a call at 436-5262.

On Monday the 12th the school board will meet at 7 p.m. for their regular meeting. That brings us to Wednesday the 14th and more junior high volleyball. This time the game is here at home at 1 p.m. and the opponent is Leyton.

Good luck and safe travel to you all.

Immediately following church service on Sunday, October 11th at the Harrisburg Community Church, there will be a pot luck/picnic lunch at the museum. A horseshoe tournament will follow lunch.

Birthdays this week include:Gary Darnall, Hanna Klosterman, Sean Rogers, Kaden Bohnsack, Jaymes Talkington, Keira Bolander, Susan Griffiths, Kinsey Groves, Karter London Mosby, Chris McNees, Trenton Knaub, Seth Cross, Alex Garcia and Grace Griffiths. Happy Happy Birthday!

Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. John Gifford, Ryan Parker, Brandon Stoddard, Steve Brown, Kevin Parker and Shawn Fulk.

As I am writing this I am listening to some really cool music. I will not tell you from what era, but most of those babies went on forever. And a person who loves music should never listen to any musician sing something after they have aged and are trying to sing it like they once did. So help me, they mean well but they ruin their own music!
