Cross Country Team Travels 193 Miles To Canceled Meet

No cross country to report this week thanks to lack of communication from Gothenburg to Kimball.

Coach Tiffany Johnson took her cross country team all the way to Gothenburg this past Thursday afternoon (193 miles) only to arrive and be told the meet had been cancelled!

Anyway, you can read about the running of the Farmer’s Day Fun Run in this week’s sports.

A change in advance of the cross country meets scheduled for this week as officials have wisely moved them ahead of the bad weather we are forecast to get. The Western Trails meet at Bayard was moved up to this past Tuesday, and the SPVA meet at Grant was moved up to this past Wednesday.

We will report on those events next week. This will leave only District and State on the schedule with District coming up October 17 at Bridgeport.

Four Winds Scrambles

The one-person scramble to be held this past weekend at the Four Winds Golf Course was cancelled, so nothing to report from there.

On the schedule this weekend, however, is the two-person triple play tournament as a fundraiser for the golf course and for Farmer’s Day.

Pick your own tee time on either Saturday or Sunday and the cost is just $60 per team plus green fee and cart if needed. More info available by calling the Pro Shop.

Kimball Men Top Sidney

At the annual Sidney versus Kimball men’s golf tournament held this past Sunday at Sidney, Kimball was a 30 to 24 winner and never lost a match of the 10 pairings. Congrats to the Kimball men who participated.

Kimball Volleyball

The Kimball High volleyball team will be in action at home this evening (Thursday) with a full slate of matches scheduled, including freshman-JV-varsity and play beginning at 4 p.m.. On Tuesday, October 15, they travel to Chase County.
