It's Back To School Night At Banner County School

Good morning Banner County, and a beautiful one it is!

We had rain here a few evenings ago and I am not sure if that was a help or a hindrance for those of you getting the corn fields ready. I have myself no corn, so I enjoyed the rain.

Well, Flowerfield school has began. You are welcome to come to the museum and enjoy a day in historic education, an experience you would not forget I am sure.

Here at home, in 2019 our education system seems to be changing on an almost daily basis. Computers everywhere and a whole lot of “other” learning that is on a screen of some sort. Broadening their horizons and making the world smaller and more accessible. The world our young people are growing up in is much, much different than that of not too long ago.

Banner County School will be hosting “Back to School Night” on Thursday, September 12, tonight, from 6-7 p.m. If you would like to see some of those changes.

Friday, September 13, you will find our three cross country members at Kimball. Run time begins at 12:30 a.m.

The sixth grade students will have a field trip that day also, and the following Monday, the 17th, the cross country team will head to Bridgeport for competition at 5 p.m. and the junior high girls will be in Gurley for volleyball. I have no game time, so here is the school’s number: 436-7152.

The FFA range judging team will be in competition in Cheyenne County during school hours. Rounding out the week will be high school football at 6 p.m. at Paxton vs. Med Valley.

Good luck and safe travel to all of you.

Happy Happy Birthday to Justin Klosterman, Christine Grubbs, Kamyanne Adrian, Whitney, Jim Wyatt, Bob Post, Sherry DeNovellis, Josh Stauffer, Kinley Lease and Kenley Olsen.

Anniversary couple of the week is Mr. & Mrs. Pat Parsons. Congratulations!

The Saturday of September 14 is the Monument 2 Monument Bike Ride. Hours are 8-10 a.m. and for more information please call 436-9700

The Western Nebraska Arts Center will have an exhibit on display throughout this month and most of October titled “Impact Nebraska: Healthy Mind, Healthy You Mental Health Awareness.” This exhibit is free and open to the public. If you would like more information, please call 632-2226.

Well, folks I hope you have a great week. Take care until next time.

Barb Cross is at 436-7152.
