Wishing You All The Very Best This Christmas

Banner County

Good Morning! Here we are and it is your Last weekend to shop for Christmas!

Some local churches will have regular Sunday services on the 24th and special services on that evening, Christmas Eve 2023. The Harrisburg Community Church invites you to join them at 6 p.m.

The last day of school at Banner was yesterday Dec. 20 and until early January of the new year, No School.

However, there are two ball games today. Both are at home vs. Cody-Kilgore, with the girls varsity game at 2 p.m. and the boys varsity at 3:30 p.m. No more sports until the 29th!

Friday, Dec. 22, Santa’s Village in Gering will be open 5-7 p.m., and the Wild Lights display at the Riverside Discovery Center will open at 5 p.m. They will also open the following evening at the same time for the final time this year.

The Midwest will show the movie “The Gremlins” at 1:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on the 21st and again the next evening at 7 p.m. Back in the day, this was one of those movies that made you wonder, what next?!

The Winter Farmers Market will be open out at the Legacy of the Plains Museum in Gering on the 23rd between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Harvest Valley Church in Scottsbluff will host a “Christmas Dinner in the Valley” on Christmas Day. You are invited to join them anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at 743 Winter Creek Drive.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Linda (Pahl) Buono, part of the Banner County graduating class of 1971 and sister to Larry Pahl. Linda spent her adult life in Phoenix and will be missed by many. Our condolences to the family.

Holiday celebrations are sad for many of us, especially Christmas. Personally I try to remember and be thankful for the time I had with lost loved ones instead of dwelling on the future I will have without them.

Now, I am wishing you all the very best of this Christmas Season, with love of family, friends, good health, and most of all the real reason for the season!

Take care until next time. Barb Cross at 436-7152.
