Coyotes Win At Banner

Potter-Dix’s Coyote football team stayed unbeaten with another dominant win, this time over the Banner County Wildcats on Friday, September 22. The Coyotes traveled to Harrisburg for the contest, and now get a week off before resuming their schedule by hosting the winless Creek Valley Storm on October 6.

The Coyotes started fast, scoring two TDs in the first quarter, but were unable to convert extra point tries, so they held a 12-0 lead going into the second quarter. Banner got on the board with a touchdown, and after Potter-Dix scored again, the teams went into the halftime break with the Coyotes leading, 18-6.

The Coyote defense shut down the Wildcat offense in the second half, and Potter-Dix put up three more touchdowns, and converted extra points on each try. The game ended 42-6 rout, keeping the Coyotes undefeated.

Sophomore Dylan Tabor handled the quarterbacking duties, and only threw two passes. He completed one for 17 yards and a touchdown to sophomore Landon Gasseling. Tabor rushed three times for 77 yards and a touchdown, gashing the Banner County run defense. Sophomores Kolby LaBeau, Layton Mossberg and senior Jaxen Buettenback each had a rushing touchdown in the win.

Junior Logan Hottell had two sacks and seven tackles, three for a loss, to lead the P-D defense.
