LEARNING THE ROPES

Karsyn Chesley, an eighth-grader at Kimball Junior High School, is ranked No. 1 in breakaway roping after the fall season of the Nebraska Junior High Rodeos. She caught all six calves while attending rodeos in Lexington, Albion and Thedford. She also is ranked No. 6 in ribbon roping with her partner, Ty Bridgman of Bayard. The spring season will start in April.  State junior high rodeo finals will be in Albion on May 16 and 17.
