Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Here Comes Kimball's Concert Season

The Kimball Concert Association has announced the kickoff of its membership campaign for the 2023-24 concert season. The association has also released schedule of concerts for the season.

Last year for the first time, the association made student memberships free, and they will continue this for the 2023-24 season. The action encourages youth to attend the four concerts and be exposed to various music and performances.

Concert tickets can be purchased at the Kimball Public Library as well as from individuals. To purchase tickets, contact Donna Linn at 308-235-2256, Susie Abramson at 308-235-6927 or Karen Morrison at 308-235-3229.

Adult memberships are $40, which includes all four concerts, and business sponsorships are $375. Due to the free membership of students, there will be no family tickets offered this year.

All of the concerts are at 7 p.m. in Harry McNees Auditorium at Kimball Jr/Sr High School.

Four concert performances have been announced beginning Oct. 21 with Empire Trio. The trio is a wildly popular classical crossover ensemble with major sellout events, including Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

On Nov. 10, Jason Lyle Black will perform classical and romantic music; Broadway, television, movie and musical hits; and pop tunes. Black is a nationally acclaimed pianist and composer, who entertains and tells fun stories. He has toured in 27 countries and is known as a bestselling piano author.

Take a bit from Les Paul & Mary Ford, Chet Atkins, Anne Murray, Merle Haggard and KD Lang, and you have a taste of what Camille and Stuie, husband and wife duo from Australia, have to offer during their concert performance on March 5.

The final concert of the season will feature Branden and James and is scheduled for April 14. Braden and James team up with singer/songwriter Effie Passero for this tour. This trio brings a spark to some of Broadway’s favorites, special classics and modern pops. The audience will be engaged throughout the performance.
