For the Observer

Lorna Evelyn, right, and the Plains Historical Society have been honored with Yard of the Week. Lorna has been providing her special touch at the corner of High School Street and Highway 30 since 2017, adding plants to the area from her own yard – Periwinkle, ajuga, an assortment of succulents and morning glories, which are beautiful as they vine up the iron fence and stop sign early in the day. Glenn Felkins donated the metal plant holders. Presenting the award are Morgan Baker, left, and Heather Entingh.
