'Best Weekend Of The Year'

Greg Robinson's team not only won the Father's Day tournament at Four Winds Golf Course, but according to Greg, it is the "best weekend of the year when I get to play with the boys."

The Championship Flight of the annual Father's Day Golf Tournament at Four Winds Golf Course was a tight finish as local teams dominated the top three spots.

The Robinsons shot a 63/59 for a 122, followed by Greenwood with a 60/63 total of 123, and Kelly Garrett's team with a 63/61 to come in third at 124.

Tournament director Randy Bohac said the annual two-day event had been played for the last 50-plus years. Players from Ohio, Iowa, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming and California are among the many coming home to play.

A donation hole was set up to accept scholarship donations in the memory of Tom Southard for a Kimball High School golfer. Karen Southard and her daughter, Shelley, greeted golfers on Hole #3 to accept donations.

In addition to the loss of Tom Southard, the Four Winds Golf community lost three other huge supporters of the Father's Day tournaments: Bob Kellner, Bob Elwood and Jerry Robbins. Their commitment to Four Winds and golf will never be matched and never forgotten.
