Junior Kaitlin Heeg and the Longhorn tracksters return to competition this week in the Tri-State meet at Creek Valley. Above, Heeg gives her all to place first in the triple jump at the recent Morrill Early Bird meet.

After a break in the action this past week, the Kimball Longhorns, Potter-Dix Coyotes and Banner County Wildcats are getting back at it.

The Longhorns returned to track and field competition Tuesday this week in the Tri-State meet at Creek Valley High in Chappell.

Field events were scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and running events at 11:30.

Results will appear in next week's Observer.

Also upcoming for Kimball track and field are the Bayard Invitational C-D Meet on Saturday, April 10, and the Western Trails Conference Track and Field Meet on April 17.

The Kimball boys golfers, meanwhile, are getting in another week of practice before teeing off for the opening of the 2021 season Tuesday, April 13, at Mitchell.

They follow that up April 15 at Bridgeport and April 17 at Chase County in what will be a busy first week.

Banner County and Potter-Dix track and field athletes also return this Saturday, April 10, at the C-D meet in Bayard and then compete April 12 at the Creek Valley Twilight.
