Merl L. Boyd

Merl L. Boyd, 71, died at his residence in the VA CLC, Cheyenne, Wyoming on June 20, 2020, with his family by his side.

Merl was born in 1948 in Sugden, OK to Capt. Lee R. and Gladys (Smith) Boyd. He joined the Army in 1966, serving one tour in Korea and two in Vietnam.

Merl was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Boyd and Gladys Boyd; brother, Lee Boyd Jr .; sisters, Gladys Lee Boyd & Arlene (Boyd) Koester.

He is survived by a sister, Cheryl (Donald) Trofholz; nieces, Sherri Goodman, Jackie (Dan) Hoppes, Darla (Dave) Klinkhammer; nephews, Alan (Beth) Beadles, Donald Trofholz, Jr; 14 great nieces & nephews; 20 great-great nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon, and Jacoby Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Ave., Cheyenne, WY 82001 with Jerry Smith officiating.

Merl's urn will be interred, with military honors at the Kimball County Cemetery, Kimball, NE at 1:00 p.m.
