Kimball Women's Golf Association Opens Season

Judy Daum had an excellent game of golf in the third week of league play Wednesday as she parred four holes in a row, numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8.

The Kimball Women's Golf Association started league play in June with eight teams. The women played the front nine, it was a beautiful evening and the course was in excellent shape.

Pattie Klinginsmith's solid performance earned her low gross scores of 45, while Phyllis Greenwood captured low net with a 34. Jean Barrett's putter was hot as she only needed it 15 times. President of the association Charlotta Young holed-out on number five.

The women played the back nine on week two and Pattie Klinginsmith continued her winning style with a gross score of 42. Low net was won by Susie Abramson with a whooping 32. Nora Robinson only needed her putter 14 times in the nine holes.

Winners for the longest putt flag prizes were Phyllis Greenwood on number 10, Donna Linn on #16 and Donna Loyd finished the round of golf on 18 with the longest putt in her handicap range.

Panhandle Women

The Panhandle Senior Women's Golf Association held its second outing of 2020 on June 15 at the Four Winds Golf Course in Kimball. Thirty nine women competed in the tournament and had a great time.

It was a very tight finish. Taking first place with a score of 72/60.12 net and two birdies was Jane Faber, Penny Yekel, Sue Williams and Jeanne Koppinger. Second place with a score of 71/60.4 net and four birdies was Tracy Smith, Londa Maron, Sally Plover and Chris Lapaseotes. Taking third place with a score of 74/60.79 net and three birdies was Marsha Neifert, Sharon Nuss and Wendy Kostman.

Flag prizes were awarded as follows: Longest Drive "A" Player – Tracy Smith, Longest Drive "B" Player – Terry Grosz, Longest Drive "C" Player – Betty Landercasper, Longest Drive "D" Player – Audrey Nelson. Julie Eaton and Jane Holechek won Longest Putts flags. Terri Luttrell and Linda Dedic won Closest Tee Shot flags. Tracy Smith and Sally Plover won Closest to the Pin from Off the Green flags.
