Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Now You Kids Get Ready For Sports Practice And School

The Wise kids were earning more honors at a golf tournament held in North Platte a week back.

Playing in the two day Junior Ambassadors Tournament, held at the Lake Maloney Rivers Edge Course in North Platte, Payton Wise finished third in her division with rounds of 94-89 and played some very good golf, according to her dad, despite having 11 unplayables and one out-of-bounds during the 94 round.

Dillon Wise was fifth in his division with two solid days of scoring with rounds of 78-77.

Dillon and Payton were also on a team that finished second in a five-hole slugfest.

Now Payton begins her sophomore year of high school golf for Kimball High with practice that got underway this past Monday, and Dillon takes his game to McCook Community College, where he will start his college career after accepting a golf scholarship.

Fall Sports

Practice Arrives

That’s right, Fall Sports practice for Nebraska High Schools got underway Monday and for Kimball High that is girls golf, football, volleyball and cross country.

Another

Golf Weekend

Four Winds Pro Chad Wise informs me there will be tournament play at the Four Winds this Saturday for a group out of Pine Bluffs, but two men’s leagues will hold a combined scramble event on Sunday, Aug. 25.

Kudos,

Fair Organizers

The Kimball Ag society deserves a lot of praise for the way they conducted the Kimball-Banner County Fair this past week. The rodeo was very entertaining with top quality rodeo stock and top quality contestants. Everything went smoothly except the weather late Sunday night, but the rodeo got done just before it hit.

The young people with all of their livestock entries were impressive, along with the other entries of art, etc. The vendors were of quality and the food by the 4-H people at the Sunday brunch was very good.

Now you kids get ready to go to sports practice and the opening of school.
