Jan. 11 Shoe Drive To Benefit Kimball Parks

The group Funds2Org will make yet another stop in Kimball to pick up lightly worn shoes tomorrow – Friday, Jan. 11 – at Beer and Loathing, 206 S. Chestnut St.

Funds raised through the shoe collection will benefit Gotte Park.

In 2017, 135 bags of shoes were collected for a pickup.

“We don’t have as many as the last time, but money raised for the parks is what matters,” said Heather Entingh, owner of Beer and Loathing. “ We have nearly 40 bags of shoes so far and will continue taking donations until tomorrow (Friday) morning.”

Just like last year, everything is recycled, the shoes are repurposed and sent to help millions of people. After Funds2Orgs processes the shoes, a check will be mailed to local organizers.

Shoes can be dropped off at Beer and Loathing or at the Kimball Banner County Chamber of Commerce, 122 S. Chestnut.

According to Entingh, the truck will roll through town at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Volunteers are needed that morning to help load bags on the truck.

“Thank you everyone for your generous donations,” Entingh said. “We will start seeing more progress on our parks this spring.”
