Brandon Mossberg Joins Board Today

The newest member of the Kimball County Board of Commissioners is ready to take his first steps in office and express his thoughts and opinions relating to the county.

Today – Thursday, Jan. 3 -- Brandon Mossberg will begin his journey as a commissioner.

Mossberg, raised in Kimball, grew up on a family farming and ranching operation. He understands many of the important and sometimes difficult tasks to be associated with agriculture and the Western way of life.

After graduating from Kimball High School, Mossberg attended the University of Northern Colorado. He then went to work for the Laramie County Road Department in Cheyenne, Wyo.

After a few years, Mossberg made the move to Wellington, Colo., and worked for the City of Fort Collins Water Department for four years.

While in Wellington, Mossberg met his wife, Chelsea. In 2007, the couple decided to move back to Kimball.

"Chelsea and I have a cow/calf operation and love our country way of life," said Mossberg.

The couple has four young boys who keep them busy year round, but Mossberg is ready to see what the new year has in store for himself and his family.

"Being on the Board of Commissioners means a great deal to me, just to know that the residents of the community have the faith that I am going to serve them well," he said.

"I decided to run for county commissioner because I think Kimball County is in need of some change and a different outlook," he said. "With an open mindset, I am going to try to serve the community to the best of my abilities.

"The most important thing to me for Kimball County is our youth," he added. "We need to make sure that our youth have opportunities to continue down a chosen path in our community and prosper."
