A good opening firearm weekend for Kimball area deer hunters

Steven Burback, another Kimball High grad who now resides in Sutton, Nebraska also came back home to fill hiw license and is shown with his nice 4 x 5 mule deer buck.

The Firearm Deer Season that opened this past weekend kept the Nebraska Game Wardens busy checking in kills at at the Sportsman's Liquor in Kimball. It also kept owner Lisa Wangler busy filling out the required forms that she keeps as through Sunday evening she had checked in 153 deer including 128 bucks and 25 does. Of that total, 139 were Mule deer and 14 were Whitetail. As I gathered this information on Monday morning, there were more hunters waiting to check in their animals. The firearm season runs through this weekend, ending at dark on Sunday.

There were many large bucks checked...
