Wise golfers' win honors at Kearney Junior Golf Classic

Kimball had 4 young golfers participate in the recent Kearney Junior Classic Golf Tournament with the sister-brother duo of Payton and Dillon Wise bringing home trophies for their play.

Payton Wise, competing in the girls' 13-15 age group, won top honors with her rounds of 95-89 in the two-day event for a total of 184. Had she played in the 16-18 age group, she would have finished 3rd as 3rd place n this age division was 194. The winning score was 168 and 2nd was 181. Payton will be a freshman at Kimball High when school takes up this coming session.

Dillon Wise finished 3rd in the boys' 16-18 age group, shooting rounds of 79-77=156. Tatman of North Platte won this division with rounds of 78-71=149 and 2nd place was Ellis of Kearney with 80-73=153, and Brendan Walker had a good first day round of 83, but came back with 120 on day two for a 203 total.

Several members of the Kimball High boy's golf team have been active this summer in the Panhandle Junior Golf Tour and are working hard at keeping their game sharp for this year of high school play.
