Potter-Dix's Nielsen has highest three-point percentage in MAC

One of the bright spots on the season for the Potter-Dix Coyotes is senior Dylan Nielsen.

Averaging 11.1 points per game and 4.6 rebounds on the season is not the only highlight for Dylan.

Nielsen has the highest three point percentage in the MAC Conference at 45 percent, shooting 17/38 on the season. According to Head Coach Ryan Mumm, Nielsen is sitting in fourth in the conference, as far as the number of three point shots made.

“Dylan is shooting the ball well from everywhere on the floor. He is shooting 69 percent from the stripe 27/39 on the season, and 41 percent on the year for two point field goals, 22/54,” said Mumm.

Stepping into the the role of a leader is a hard job, but is somewhat expected as a senior, Nielsen has stepped into the role of the “go-to guy” for the Coyotes this year. “Night-after-night he has continued to perform well in situations”.

“He has worked very hard to make necessary improvements in his game and through this point in the season, he has stepped up when needed and led the team well,” added Mumm.

When being able to step up and make these kind of big plays defenses will start to key in and make sure to watch him close, therefore these shots are becoming more difficult, but according to the coach he has still continued to step up and make key plays.

“I look for him to continue that throughout the remainder of the season.”
