Kimball Junior Varsity open with wins

The Kimball Junior Varsity basketball teams opened the season this past weekend with wins for both the girls and boys.

The girls won at Perkins County 23-10 in 2 quarters of play, led by Jenna Greenwood with 8, including 1 trey. Megan Spicer had 5 with 1 trey, Jaydin Paxton 4, Samantha Bemis 2, Lacey Klinkhammer 2 and Sierra Rutledge 2.

Saturday night, Kimball won over visiting Morrill in a thriller 32-30, with the contest close from start to finish. Kimball had 9 players score with Spicer high with 6, Emma Martin 5, Sydney Biesecker 5, Paxton 4, Greenwood 4, Bemis 3 with 1 trey, Klinkhammer 2, Raven Johnson 2, and Brooklyn Golding 1.

The Kimball boys won at Grant 43-33 with Beau Hanks netting 11 points, including 1 trey, Austin Lulf with 9 and 1 trey, Brendan Walker 7, Jacob Withrow 6, Corey Travis 4, Samuel Cajero 2, Brayden Tyan 2, and Javon Coyle 2.

Kimball won 57-38 over Morrill Saturday night, with Travis leading the way with 12, Lulf with 11 and 1 trey, Tyan 9 with 1 trey, Walker 8, Cajero 6, Coyle 5, Withrow 4 and Jaren Winstrom 2.
