Donna J. Cantrell

Donna Jean Cantrell, age 80, of Callaway, died Sunday, Easter morning, April 16, 2017, at Callaway Good Life Center. Donna was born on November 24, 1936, near Callaway, Nebraska to George E. and Dorothy M. (Booker) Morrison.

Donna grew up and attended schools in Callaway; Arnold; Lawton, Oklahoma; and Kimball. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1955, where she was Homecoming Queen in the fall of 1954. On April 29, 1956, she married Jerald L. Cantrell in Callaway. They farmed and ranched northwest of Callaway for fifty-eight years. Donna was a member of the Callaway United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Busy Bee's Extension Club and a Neighborhood Card Club.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jerald; children, Beth (Randy) Kimball of Callaway, Jim (Kim) Cantrell of Gering, Brenda (Craig) Manley of Morrill, and Diane (Bruce) Spangler of Callaway; grandchildren, Stacey (Brian) Demery of Omaha, Brooke (Leroy Brown) Kimball of Lincoln, Sarah (Chauncey) Walker of Mitchell, Jodi Cantrell of Omaha, Ryan (Lesly) Manley of Minatare, Allison (Matt) Manzer of Omaha, Greg Spangler of Lincoln, Jenna (Chanc) McIntosh, and Steven (Erica Scheideler) Manley all of Broken Bow; great-grandchildren, Tre', Kendall, Katelyn, Kyron,  Conner, Carter, Wyatt and Scarlett; brothers, Fred (Marilyn) Morrison of O'Neill, and Robert (Pam) Morrison of Loveland, Colorado; aunts and uncle, Rose Hirsch of Broken Bow, Ruth Henderson, Bud (Wanda) Booker, and Shirley Booker-Reiker all of North Platte; and sister-in-law, Elaine Cantrell of Lexington.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Callaway United Methodist Church with Pastor Shanon Williams officiating.

Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway.

Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway.

Memorials have been established to the Callaway United Methodist Church and Callaway Good Life Center.

Her family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to everyone at the Good Life Center for the special care they provided through the years. As long as we have searched, through all the tears we've cried..., we've tried to find the reason for this long good-bye.
