Lady Horns bring home a win from Morrill

The Kimball Lady Longhorns fell to Bayard and Potter-Dix during a home triangular hosted on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

The Lady Horns put up a fight against Bayard first. Leading the attack for the Horns were Hannah Biesecker and Rae-lynn Hinton each with five kills.

Kaitlin Wurdeman added two and the team got one each from Shauntae Daily, Kate Reader and Alex Reader.

Biesecker led defense with four solo blocks and three digs while Hinton was credited with three aces, one block and three digs.

Wurdeman contributed three digs as well and one solo block followed by teammates Shauntae Daily, Kate Reader, Justine Heeg and Alex Reader with three digs each.

Hanna Klosterman added two digs and Madison Wynne, one.

Heeg further contributed six assists followed by Wynne with four, Klosterman with three, and Daily and Alex Reader with one each.

Though the Lady Horns defense was busy throughout the game, they narrowly missed the win.

The Lady Horns (6-14) followed up with two sets against the Potter-Dix Coyotes (21-1) for another loss.

Biesecker once again led the attack with seven kills, followed by Hinton with five and Wurdeman with two. Daily, Kate Reader and Alex Reader each contributed one.

Serving was again a sore spot for the Lady Horns with just three aces, two from Alex Reader and one from Klosterman.

Heeg was credited seven assists while Klosterman had three, Wynne two and Alex Reader, one. No information on defense was available.

Potter-Dix 25 25

Kimball hosted Morrill just two days later, on Thursday, Oct. 6 for a hard-fought win in four sets.

Biesecker scored 15 points in the battle against Morrill with six aces, 13 kills and two blocks while Hinton contributed five points, two aces, eight kills and three blocks.

Klosterman was credited with 12 points and nine assists, Heeg added eight points and eight assists and Hailey Paxton contributed three points, one kill and one block.

Jannel Fiehtner added five to the board with two aces, Wurdeman contributed two kills, Daily added two points and one kill and Wynne made two points with three assists.
