Elmer T. Bogert

Elmer T. Bogert, 90, of Kimball, passed away peacefully at his home in Kimball with his family by his side, on Monday, June 1, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 5, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Ken Mars officiating. Burial will be held in the Kimball Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 4, from 1-6 p.m. Memorials have been established to St. John's Lutheran Church or Prairie Haven Hospice. Elmer Thomas Bogert was born in Milford on Nov. 27, 1924., the son of Frank and Mary (Wright) Bogert. He attended school in Milford and graduated from high school in 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October of 1943 and served his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged in April of 1946.

Elmer moved to Kimball with his brother and worked in construction as a painter, carpenter and electrician. Elmer was married to Anne Adels on June 26, 1948 in Laramie, Wyo. In 1952 he opened Bogert Auto Sales. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball on March 16, 1954. Elmer became the Rambler/GMC dealer in Kimball from 1962 to 1968, he then continued his used car business, a job he held until the time of his death.

Elmer also managed home rentals in Kimball for a number of years. He loved working at the dealership and on his rental property. He enjoyed trips with his friends and family to Wendover and Las Vegas. Spending time with his family and friends was an important part of his life. He also enjoyed going to the car auctions in Denver, sometimes twice a week.

Survivors include his son, Roger Bogert of Kimball; daughter, Becky Lambert of Hillsboro, Ore .; grandchildren, Chris (Beth) Bogert of Dix, Monica (Rafael) Garcia of Pensacola, Fla., and Lucas Lambert of Walnut Creek, Calif .; great-grandchildren, Clay, Samuel, Erica and Sabrynn Bogert and Rafael, Felix and Carmela Garcia; sister-in-laws, Ella Branmier and Annabelle Adels; brother-in-laws, Bill Adels and Vern Adels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Donald; brothers, Bill, Frances, Al, Bob and Owen; and sister, Elizabeth Falk.
