Seventeen new computers for every junior and a new 30 passenger bus approved for purchase by the Banner County Board of Education during the regular meeting on Aug 8. According to Lana Sides, superintendent, every junior that attends Banner school will receive a new Lenovo Thinkpad 15.6 inch laptop at the beginning of the school year at a cost of just more than $9,900. More than two years ago Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) board member announced that the organization needed to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Following that announcement the board and staff at CAPWN began making changes. According to a recent news release, the organization identified debt, restructured the agency and developed a plan to pay back creditors. The Farmer’s Day committee is ready to take nominations for the 90th Annual Farmer’s Day Grand Marshal, Outstanding Farmer and Outstanding Homemaker.
