The Kimball girls and boys both finished in sixth place at last week's SPVA Conference Track meet with the Longhorn boys scoring 38 points and the girls 37.

Jaden Withrow was an individual winner winning the triple jump at 41'8" and finishing second in the long jump at 20'7". A good day for senior sprinter Kyle Spicer as he ran second in both the 100 meters and 200 meters with respective times of 11.65 and 23.74. Kaden Kaden Adrian ran eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:12.72. The 4x800 relay team of Adrian, Nicholas Thomas-Lewis, Zachery Wagner, and Stephen Bateman ran fifth in 9:30.20.

A rather depleted Kimball squad also preformed at the Bayard B-C-D meet this past Friday with the Kimball girls scoring 23.2 points to finish ninth in the field of 12 teams, and the boys finishing 10th with 21 points. Mitchell won the girl's team title with 147 points while Sidney took top team honors in the boy's division with 150 points.

Not the best day for senior Jaden Withrow who had to settle for a pair of third place finishes in his jumping events. He got out only 40'8.5" in the triple jump and had a best of 20'3" in the long jump. Zachery Wagner finished eighth in the triple jump at 37'11". Jaden Mohr wound up fifth in the pole vault at 11'6", a foot short of his best effort this season. Kaden Adrian was seventh in the 800 running almost the identical time he clocked at the SPVA, his time at Bayard was 2:12.20 The 4x800 relay team of Adrain, Nicholas Thomas-Lewis, Stephen Bateman, and Zachery Wagner also ran seventh in 9:38.03.

The jumps proved to be the bright spot for the Kimball girls as well with Hannah Biesecker and Jannel Fiehtner going 2-3 in the long jump with best jumps of 15'10" and 15'4.25". Freshman Jenna Greenwood was sixth in the triple jump at 30'11.25", and was eighth in the high jump at 4'4". Kennedy Lewis did not place in the pole value but had a PR of 7'0". The 4x100 relay team ran fifth with Biesecker, Fiehtner, Greenwood, and Kate Reader teaming up to run 53.26.

Senior Sprinter Kyle Spicer did not compete as he was nursing a leg problem but should be ready for today's District meet being held at Mitchell. Coach Gene Mohr was not putting a lot of pressure on his squad to preform at their ultimate at Bayard but at today's, Thursdays District Meet it is a different situation. "We are hoping to have our best performances today as we are trying to get as many of our athletes qualified for the state meet as possible" Said Mohr. Start time at Mitchell was set for 10 a.m. but could vary some depending on weather, but will be held regardless. The top two individuals in each event and the winning relay teams, plus some additional bests from all districts will advance to the state meet coming up May 19-20 at Omaha Burke Stadium.
