Kimball girls take seventh, boys ninth at Alliance meet

The Kimball boys cross country team finished ninth and the girls took seventh at the Alliance meet held last Saturday at Skyview Golf Course.

Mitchell won the boys 5,000 meter run, followed by Gering and Scottsbluff.

The top runner for the Kimball boys team was Zachary Wagner, who came in 23rd with a time of 19:32:28. He was followed closely behind by Brandon Barker, who finished 24th with a time of 19:32:76. The next runner for the Longhorns was Kaden Adrian, who came in 54th place with a time of 21:45:03. Nicholas Thomas-Lewis finished 55th with a time of 21:85:43, Thomas Lenzen came in 63rd with a time of 23:05:75 and Garrett Pedersen finished 65th in 25:24:05.

Edward Grentz of Mitchell won the individual race in 17:51.22, edging teammate Chase Watson, who finished second in 17:59.78.

Kailey Dickerson led the Kimball girls team with a 29th place finish in 25:12.78. Next up was Alex Reader, who came in 33rd overall with a time of 21:55:69. Raylyn Soper finished 43rd in 28:36:41, Arica McCloud took 44th place in 28:39:75, Monica Wasielewski was next with an overall place of 47th and a time of 29:26:28, and Kennedy Lewis finished 48th in 30:18:38.

Rebekah Rawlings of Gering won the individual title with a time of 19:51.22, while Celeste Cardona of Mitchell finished second in 20:46.5.

"We continue to improve at each meet with a good majority of our athletes raising their personal records each time," said Kimball cross country coach Tiffany Johnson. "We have a busy week coming up as we run in Scottsbluff (Tuesday), and then in Ogallala on Thursday."
