  • Some properties previously believed to be city property are, in fact, county property

    Recently there have been a few changes to how properties in Kimball County have been coded for tax purposes for the 2013 tax season. Some properties previously believed to be within city limits have been rezoned to fall into the property of the county, according to Kimball County Assessor Debra Huff.     The Kimball High girls’ golf team shot their lowest score of the season at the Mitchell Tournament this past week, taking third place in the team standings with their 422 team total. Chadron took top team honors with a 401 followed by Bridgeport with 407. Behind Kimball in team scoring were Sidney JV with 432, Gering JV 504, and Alliance 537.     Ruth Evelyn Poole, born January 2, 1923 in Elmwood, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Darby Glenn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The former Kimball resident was a 50-plus year member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the OSU Mother’s Club, the Valleyview and Westmoor PTA groups and she loved her time playing in the neighborhood euchre club.     Magel H. Suhr, age 92, longtime area resident passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Indian Hills Care Center in Ogallala. Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M.
