Missile Meeting Here On Nov. 8

Air Force, Army Corps To Visit

The U.S. Air Force, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is holding town hall meetings on Nov. 6 in Sidney and 8 in Kimball.

The intent of these meetings is to inform local residents and landowners about real estate acquisitions planned in their areas and to provide an opportunity to ask questions of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers negotiators.

The Air Force has determined the locations for the initial temporary construction easements and new perpetual easements for utility corridors.

To prepare for construction, the Air Force needs to conduct environmental and pre-construction survey work within the subject area. It is anticipated that non-destructive underground utility line location surveys will begin this fall.

The town hall meetings are scheduled for Nov. 6th at Sidney High School Auditorium and Nov. 8th at The Sagebrush in Kimball. Both town halls will start at 6 p.m.

During these meetings, the Air Force will provide subject matter experts to explain the real estate acquisition timeline, process, appraisals, and negotiations. Landowners can ask questions of any of the representatives from the Air Force, and finalize any agreements currently being negotiated with US Army Corps of Engineers.
