Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Summer garden fun

Claudette and DuWayne Sundet moved to Kimball three years ago under the advice of doctors to slow down a bit.

In the three years since buying their home at 308 Jefferson they have busied themselves with various pursuits, one of which, particularly for Claudette, is gardening.

Claudette has transformed her front yard into a showcase with several fairy gardens depicting the couples passion for traveling in their RV, in addition to a fairy garden made to mirror their home and one honoring the surrounding farmlands.

Many items in the various fairy gardens are repurposed, or upcycled items, such as the old tractor weights that serve as the base of the two gardens.

Reusing items in the garden doesn't stop in their front yard either, as the couple built a fountain in their back yard using an old tractor tire and they used several smaller car tires for hanging planters.

Their back yard is alive with color from the painted tire hanging planters to the deck furniture, but perhaps most from the shed that Claudette hand painted while DuWayne was out of state.
