Phyllis Lee Carmichael

Phyllis Lee Carmichael, 86, formerly of Kimball, NE, passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

Phyllis was born on June 21st, 1937, to Gilbert and Maxine Carmichael in Steele City, Nebraska. They moved to Kimball, where she spent the majority of her life.

Phyllis graduated from Kimball County High School in 1955. Always a hard worker, she was employed at various places including the ANB, Hik'ry Inn, City of Kimball and GRI. Phyllis had many hobbies, including painting ceramics and scrapbooking. She also enjoyed outings with the Red Hatters. On occasion, she could be seen in a Big Bird costume. Phyllis retired and moved to Indiana in 2010 to be closer to family.

Survivors include brother Roger (Rose) of Tuscon AZ, sons Douglas (Becky) of Omaha, David (Karin) of Greenfield, IN, and grandsons Devin, Dillon, Matt and Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Gib Jr. and Judy.

Cremation has been held and she will be returned to her beloved Kimball. Graveside services will be at Kimball Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24th, 2024, with Pastor Lorrie Kentner officiating.
