They Win The Kimball Invitational/WTC, Then Battle Hard At Windy Bayard
The Kimball Longhorn golf team took first in both the WTC and the Kimball Invite last Friday with Kyler Lusche leading the pack.
Lusche talked about the highlights: "My chipping, my wedges were the best. I couldn't really hit any good drivers but made up for it with chipping. I didn't really have any bad chips, left me short putts."
He said the greens were a little slower, but he was able to land the ball closer to the hole.
Lusche shot 35/38 for a 78 and first place to lead his team. Landon Norberg shot 43/41 for an 84. Norberg took sixth place for the invite and eighth place in the WTC.
Kimball's first-place team score was 338, followed by runner-up Bridgeport at 349.
Other Kimball varsity golfers were Connor Deboodt shooting 89, Bransyn Kiefer 92 and Ryker Behrend 102.
The JV scores were: Brandon Paxton 110, Sam Anderson 115, Nolan Cook 116, Cainin Sours 119, Tradin Hottell 123, Tig Woolington 136, Hatcher Baxendale 138 and Wyatt Cook 145.
Bayard Invite
The Horns next went to windy Bayard on May 7 and battled the conditions to place third as a team in a competition called after 9 holes.
Lusche placed first once again with a 38. Other Kimball scores: Deboodt 46, Norberg 46, Keifer 52 and Behrend 56.
