Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Next Up: Sutherland, St. Pat’s And The WTC
The Lady Longhorns basketball team battled to win its fourth game of the season Tuesday night at Mitchell, 44-41.
Now it’s on to today’s Jan. 25 matchup at 5:30 p.m. with visiting Sutherland and a rematch 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at North Platte St. Pat’s.
Then comes the WTC. Kimball is seeded No. 7 and opens tourney play Feb. 1 at No. 2 Bayard. The winner will advance to face the winner of the No. 3 Gordon-Rushville and No. 6 Hemingford game in a 3:30 p.m. contest Feb. 2 at WNCC.
Kimball Coach Jaclyn Burks commented on her team’s 51-28 loss to St. Pat’s in the SPVA fifth place game.
“Although the game against St Pats did not end how we had hoped, we learned a lot in the second half on how to defend them better and I have high hopes that we will turn it around when we play them this Saturday at North Platte,” she said.
