Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The first game after the Christmas break for the Lady Longhorns was a trip to South Platte on Tuesday, January 1. Kimball started out strong and stuck with the hosts, staying within 10 points for the first three quarters, but could not overcome them in the fourth.
Coach Jaclyn Burks said "the girls hustled, but the team has been battling the flu and sickness and we ran out of gas in the last quarter and put ourselves in foul trouble as well, so that did not help our efforts."
Burks was pleased with improvement intaking care of the ball. Turnovers were almost cut in half from the Hershey game, and the Lady Horns out rebounded South Platte.
Burks said, "Overall, I saw improvement on things we worked on over break and have more confidence going into this weekend's games with Banner County and Chase County."
