The officers of the Kimball FFA addressed the county commissioners Tuesday in reference to applying for the National Chapter Award.

According to the officers, the award was created to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the mission and strategies of the the FFA organization. This includes recognizing improving chapter operations, emphasizes growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.

The students' goal is to apply for the National Chapter Award. They must complete 15 activities from five quality standards. Every chapter that meets the minimum quality chapter standards will qualify as a state superior chapter. The top 20 gold applicants may be submitted for national competition.

The commissioners approved the regular Agreement for Extraordinary Snow Removal and Extraordinary maintenance of Defense Access Roads for F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, from 2024 through 2028.

The final update on county business was from Christy Warner, KCTS administrator. Warner told the board that all the new vans have arrived in Kimball and four of them are on the road. The fifth one has a sensor problem and will be fixed as soon as possible.

Warner said that there is still "on demand" service and, according to the grant they received, they have to have full on-demand rides.

KCTS had its 90-day review of routes, and they have adjusted the times of those routes.

The next regular commissioners meeting is Tuesday, November 7, at 9:00 a.m.
