New-Look Coyotes Win In Old-School Style, 73-0

DALTON--There are questions about the Potter-Dix Coyotes after the graduation of star player Luke Kasten, but none of them were answered Friday night as the Coyotes again breezed through the Minatare Indians, 73-0 at Combs Field. The Coyotes crushed the Indians last year in the opener, 85-6, and this year's results were very similar.

With three pass completions by senior Brayden Kasten and one more by sophomore Dylan Tabor, the Coyotes only passed four times for 61 yards, but scored two touchdowns in the process.

Jaxen Buettenback had a monster day rushing the ball, carrying it only seven times for 131 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 18.7 yards per carry. Brayden Kasten rushed two times for only 15 yards, but both carries resulted in touchdowns.

The Potter-Dix defense forced two interceptions and special teams blocked a punt in the win.

The Coyotes next travel to Crawford to take on the Rams, and the Coyotes will again be heavily favored in this matchup.

The Coyotes rolled over the Rams last season at Combs Field, putting up 91 points against the Rams six. After that game, the Coyotes should have their first real test of the season when they travel to Hay Springs on September 7 to take on a Hawks team that is always up for a close game.
